#monthly reading lists#books#i'm hoping to read the first two before my ebook ban starts on wednesday#i've got a physical copy of the third book in warnemunde's trilogy on my shelf#it'll be a perfect lent read but i have to make sure i finish book 2 first#i've gone from 30% to 60% in the past day so i should be able to finish#(it got better once i pushed through the overly-detailed explanations of the political situation)#i've got to read benedict's second encyclical now that i've read the first#i should be able to fit it in before wednesday#i heard 'the secret garden' mentioned and it seems like an excellent time for a reread#(especially since rebekah's going to be posting about it)#the heir and the spare is a lenten must-read#i've been making myself wait for weeks now#(and after reading one of her books i always need a second so i've got the novellas on hand)#i *really* would like to be able to read the mount doom chapter on the feast of the annunciation#i doubt i'll be able to squeeze in a full-series reread before then#so i may just reread that chapter on the day#i heard 'the light princess' mentioned and felt it was the perfect time of year for a reread#and i'll finally read my illustrated copy!#considering rereading thg trilogy before the prequel arrives#i doubt it will happen#i'm not sure i'll finish the new book before the end of the month#depends how much of a chonker it is#there are other things on my shelf that *aren't* rereads that i may get to#but the rereads are what are sticking out to me right now#i'll wait and see what else appeals to me as the month goes on

severance really brings how how uterrly rare it is to witness television that feels like it was written by people who care about the story they're telling and consistently put in the time and effort necessary to tell that story at a high level of quality. it's been so long since i watched a tv show that felt like that.

Got reminded of my beloved hamsters.... and now I miss them.... (it's been 12 years)
#i need to make a tribute drawing of them one day they were such fun little guys#it's funny how i've been always a huge animals fan and learned everything about them when i was little#yet i've only ever had those two hamsters when it comes to pets. i mean not counting the aquarium fish before that#(but that wasn't really like. my pet because my dad took care of them and stuff because i was like 4 years old#i'll always remember that one neon tetra that outlived at least two other generations of fish she was a real one i was so happy for her)#but ok not pondering this now just wanted to give a shoutout to my awesome hamsters today. i gave them such funny names#my old phone was full of pics and videos of them unfortunately they are 5 pixels wide but that's ok good to have them anyway#the funniest thing was when i let one hamster roam around my room and i was carefully following it around so that it wouldn't run off ofc#but then it suddenly got supersprint powers and dashed off and squeezed under the door of the huge wardrobe in the cloackroom#and i have that moment immortalized in video form and it includes my freaking out about it#it was scary in the moment but its hilarious to watch now (the hamster was saved right away and ended up unscathed so it was all good)#well all in all. hamsters will always be special little animals to me because of all that just wanted to say this. i'm a real hamsters fan#goosepost

successfully gave cat her antibiotic 👍
#only have to do this seven more times.#i have to do this like every six months#if you have a cat that easily takes medications i hate you so much#and they always make her lose her appetite after a couple of days which makes it SO much harder to get her to take it#they give it to us in a liquid form now which is better than the tablets but it has a really strong smell#and if she smells it she won't take it#which is fine for the first day or two because her nose is stuffed so she can't smell but once they start working she can smell a lot bette#i have to put a couple of drops on a spoon and squeeze one of those cat frubes on top. and then do that like five times in a row.#stresses me out so much#because i love her so much like that's literally my baby forever.#and i hate when she's suffering but i can't explain to her that this will make her feel better#thanks for reading my essay on fiving my cat antibiotics. I'm not mentally well.
